Greenlight Networks Powers Forward with Western New York Expansion, Beginning Construction in the City of Tonawanda
CITY OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. (Dec. 16, 2024) – Greenlight Networks (“Greenlight”), the leading fiber-to-the-home provider in New York State, today announced plans to expand its fiber internet network into the City of Tonawanda. The expansion will connect more than 5,500 new homes to the company’s ultra-fast network. Preliminary utility pole work is currently underway in the neighborhoods between Two Mile Creek Road and Young Street, with fiber cable installation beginning shortly after. Homes are expected to have service as early as February 2025.
“Families across Western New York have made it clear: they want more options for their internet service, and Greenlight Networks is proud to be answering that call for choice and innovation,” said Mark Murphy, CEO, Greenlight Networks. “Our growth into the City of Tonawanda has been a priority since we began this regional expansion and is a significant milestone in our commitment to bringing reliable, high-speed internet to as many New Yorkers as possible.”
Each installation provides symmetrical upload and download speeds, unlimited data usage and transparent pricing without hidden fees or long-term contracts.
“Greenlight Networks is an important addition to the City of Tonawanda, marking a significant step forward for our community,” said John White, Mayor of the City of Tonawanda. “At a time when so many families are feeling the financial squeeze, having an affordable and reliable option for an essential piece of infrastructure is more than welcome here, and I look forward to hearing from residents about their experience with Greenlight Networks.”
This initiative adds to Greenlight’s established presence in the Buffalo Niagara region, where the company already services more than 30,000 homes. Greenlight Networks is actively engaging with the local community as a member of the Chamber of Commerce of the Tonawandas and earlier this month they sponsored the “It’s a Wonderful Night” event, which included the annual tree lighting ceremony on Main Street.
Residents can visit greenlightnetworks.com/check-availability to sign up for construction updates or pre-order service. Those who pre-order will receive free installation, a $100 value, and will be notified to schedule their in-home installation by a Greenlight Networks fiber technician once construction is complete in their neighborhood.
