NYS Affordable Broadband Act
Eligible households can get service for $15 per month.
The NYS Affordable Broadband Act (ABA) requires internet service providers to offer broadband service to low-income households at reduced prices. This program has no contracts, data use caps, taxes, and hidden fees. Greenlight Networks plan is 25-Mbps download speeds and 3-Mbps upload speeds with a $100 installation fee*.

To be eligible for this plan, your household must be eligible, or a recipient of, one of the following:
- Free or reduced lunch through the National School Lunch Programs;
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits;
- Medicaid benefits;
- Senior citizen rent increase exemption;
- Disability rent increase exemption; orÂ
- An affordability benefit from a recognized public utility (e.g., water, gas, electric, telephone).

To Request that Greenlight Networks review your eligibility, you must complete the form in “Step 2” above. As part of completing the form, you will be required to select the program under which you are eligible and you will be required to submit documentation proving your eligibility. Greenlight Networks will review your submission and take the following steps:
If you are only seeking to order service from Greenlight under this low income program, do not submit an order prior to receiving confirmation of your eligibility. Once Greenlight Networks has reviewed your eligibility, we will contact you to do one of the following:
- If you are determined to be eligible, we will provide you with the necessary information to place an order for through greenlightnetworks.com
- If you are determined not to be eligible, we will contact you to determine if you wish to move forward with placing an offer for our standard service or not.
- If you are determined to be eligible: (1) adjust your internet speeds from your current selection to 25mbps download and 3mbps upload; and (2) adjust your monthly cost for your internet service to $15 per month as of the date your eligibility is confirmed.
- If you are determined not to be eligible we will notify you of our determination and you may provide any additional information you feel should be considered.
*The fixed price of $15 per month only applies to your internet service. Any other fees that apply to Greenlight’s standard service for all subscribers will still apply. For example, (1) new subscribers will still be required to pay an installation fee and (2) if you wish to add managed wi-fi to your service, an additional charge for that service will be applied to your account. For more information on these fees, see greenlightnetworks.com. You are not eligible for any additional promotions or discounts. If you upgrade your speed to one of Greenlight Networks standard plans you will be charged the standard pricing.
