Carl Taylor Joins Greenlight Networks Board of Directors
Rochester, NY (September 20, 2022) – Greenlight Networks, a leading fiber-to-the-home provider in New York State, with its majority investor Oak Hill Capital, announced today that Carl A. Taylor has joined the Board of Directors of Greenlight Parent, L.P., the parent company of Greenlight Networks.
Taylor, prior to his recent retirement, was President and Chief Executive Officer of Avangrid Network’s two utility operating companies—New York State Electric & Gas (NYSEG) and Rochester Gas and Electric (RG&E)— and led the New York Networks businesses.
“We are pleased to welcome Carl to the Greenlight Board,” said Mark Murphy, Founder and CEO of Greenlight Networks. “Carl’s deep experience in a recurring revenue business, strong regulatory knowledge and extensive customer service background will be invaluable to Greenlight as we continue to aggressively expand our network, grow our customer base and pursue our mission to provide the best Internet experience possible.”
Taylor resides in Binghamton, NY, a key market for Greenlight Networks as the company is currently expanding its fiber optic network in the City of Binghamton, as well as the surrounding areas of Union, Vestal, Johnson City, Owego, Endwell and Endicott. Greenlight’s sought-after fiber network is now available across 21 municipalities throughout the Rochester, Buffalo, Binghamton, and Albany regions. With the recent investment from Oak Hill Capital, Greenlight plans to further accelerate its fiber build outs to expand within its existing service areas and new communities.
“It is my pleasure to work with Greenlight Networks as they continue to grow and build out the much-needed fiber access to customers,” said Taylor. “Customers data needs are changing and require faster and more data with extreme reliability. This is what Greenlight Networks is delivering.”
Taylor earned a master’s degree in business administration from the State University of New York at Binghamton and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
